In June/July 2010, we escorted a group with Globus on their 12-day "The Best of Austria & Switzerland" land tour. Our journey covered the highlights of two of Europe's most beautiful countries. Our itinerary included the following cities, but we did alter our itinerary to include two nights in Zurich prior to departing on our tour.
Throughout our journey, our guided tours, some of our meals, transportation between the cities and our hotels were included. The tour was at a relaxed pace with a great group and we saw some of the most beautiful sights in the world to be seen (we took over 2000 pictures). Although it was at a more relaxed pace, we did all that we could have done, so we were in need of a rest on the plane ride home.
Check out the articles and each of the locations we visited and watch the videos we shot while there (this is our first shot, so we will get better, WE PROMISE!).

The Grandeur of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean's mid-sized ships and we sailed on it from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West and Cozumel, with one day at sea. We reserved an inside cabin, which was ultimately in the front of the ship. Although, we weren't really happy about our placement, we found that it was great during dinner time. We simply took the elevator to the 6th floor and walked right in to the Great Gatsby, which our feet loved!
Our room was a standard size room, although we have noticed now both on Princess and Royal Caribbean that our suitcases don't fit under the bed. That leads to a reduction in valuable closet space! The room had a small TV, desk area, safe, chair and a half sized "couch" and closet. The bathroom had a stand-up shower, toilet, sink and plenty of cabinet space for our toiletries. Royal Caribbean provided shampoo and soap.

Going to Alaska without seeing Glacier Bay is an incredible mistake. Only a few cruise lines will spend the time and money for their all day cruise.
When you go, you’ll see scenic mountains and glaciers, birds seals and bears. The whales are there, but can sometimes be elusive. This park has it all. Park Rangers board the ship to offer extensive information to passengers about the park. This is a great day to relax, view and listen. Make sure your camera battery is charged!
Just as beautiful, but not quite as big as Glacier Bay. Cruising past six glaciers as you eat lunch on the ship deck is a marvelous experience. Your cruise ship will get quite close to these and they are very picturesque. You’ll have millions of great pictures and none to throw away. |

One of the incredible benefits of using Above & Beyond Travel is that we regularly travel and can give you an insiders view of what to expect on many cruises and resorts. In March, Caryn took a 4-day trip to Cable Beach on Paradise Island in the Bahamas to visit the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island, voted the Caribbean's top resort by readers of Conde Nast Magazine.
Many of you are familiar with the Sandals concept of the “luxury-included” vacation which includes beautifully upscale accommodations, gourmet restaurants, top shelf liquor and wine, and a number of activities including scuba diving. This particular resort, along with the Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica, offers a vacation within a vacation by offering an offshore island. Now, let's get in to how her trip was!
